T1 Technical support / SysAdmin “iWeb” Montreal, QC (Canada) March 2020 – Current
Duties: Direct phone and email support to our clients. All kind of requests: anything between DNS record changes to diagnosing malfunctioning web, email or any kind of servers. Support mainly offered in English and Spanish, but also some French.
The technologies involved are:
- Linux (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu), Windows Server 2008-19, cPanel, Plesk, MySQL, MS SQL, DNS Management, Switch management (Cisco, Dell, Juniper), etc.
Development & Operations VoIP Engineer “Teliqo Direct” London (UK) March 2019 – Jan 2020
Duties: Responsible of maintaining and developing new functions for Asterisk based VOIP servers for the current infrastructure and planning/developing new features for future products in the company’s portfolio.
The technologies involved are:
- Asterisk 1.4-16.0 running on Debian 7-9. Yealink, Cisco and Polycom devices including its provisioning platforms. MicroTik, DrayTek and Cisco firewalls.
IT Manager “U M Association Ltd.” London (UK) November 2015 – March 2019
Duties: Responsible of the IT department for a 30-user company. Everything from helpdesk to project management, budgeting and purchases.
The technologies involved are:
- , Microsoft Exchange 2013, MS SQL 2012, VEEAM for backups. Managed several Cisco ASA, HP and DrayTek network devices. Mimecast for email filtering and ESET for virus protection.
Technical Engineer “Fresh Tech Ltd.” London (UK) March 2011 – November 2015
Duties: Started as a 1st level support in 2011 and ever since I have done 1st/2nd/3rd level support (on SysAid and ZenDesk) on a rota basis. I have also maintained several business environments (mostly Windows environments 2003-2012) and some Debian servers, mail servers (Exchange 2003-2013), customer support and consultancy. I ran maintenance and wrote scripts on PowerShell for our own ease. I was also in charge of licensing and documentation for my clients. I worked on-site, remotely from our office and from home sometimes. Most of my clients are SMBs (5-100 employees).
I have been involved in many projects and gained experience with a great number of environments with different technologies:
- Windows Server 2003-2012, Microsoft Exchange 2003-2012, MSSQL 2005-2008, BackupAssist for Backups into iSCSI and fibre channel connected NAS devices. Managed several Cisco (incl. Meraki), Watchguard, DrayTek network devices. Cloud-based backups using the Ahsay client.
- On the Apple side the experience has been less significant, but I’ve had to resolve issues on Mac OS X Servers 10.3-10.8 and give technical support for OS X users.
- I’ve installed and maintained a couple of Asterisk servers from scratch over Ubuntu and CentOS servers. Hold an IPcortex PBX certification.
- “Infocoste” Urretxu (Spain) September 2008 – December 2010
- : Fix costumer’s computers in-store and on-site. Mostly personal customers, but a few small businesses as well (1-10 employees) with Debian and Ubuntu servers. Two sites required Windows 2000-2003 server management for AD authentication and tape backups with BackupExec.
